What do Interior Designers wear to a holiday party?
See how the Paris Forino design team dressed in inspired looks for their annual holiday dinner.
With the holiday season upon us in full force, there are a flurry of events to attend and endless ways to interpret what “festive fashion” means. While some may find the range of attire options daunting, the Paris Forino team reveled in the task of translating their expertise in designing interior spaces to craft the perfect holiday looks. See how they found inspiration in colors, textures and the past to create and accessorize unique ensembles for our annual holiday dinner at Oiji Mi.
Winter White + Midnight
Winter’s duality of light and dark. Natasha’s pairing of a white silk midi skirt from Ukraine with an off-the shoulder Aritzia top resembles a winter snowscape. She matched this with espresso brown suede boots and accessorized with gold jewelry, featuring a thin vintage watch she picked up in Cape Cod. Irena contrasts Natasha’s light, natural look with classic glitz + glamour. She paired a black cropped blazer from Nocturne with black flare leg slacks and stiletto heels. Her sparkling Alex Wang bag and long statement earrings create a stark contrast to her otherwise monochrome, midnight look. Together, Natasha and Irena evoke timeless glamour.
Santa Clause + Vintage Red
Santa’s iconic suit, past and present. Cy and Danya individually interpret the iconic hue of Christmas. Danya took cues from the past and is dressed in a fully vintage and thrifted ensemble. Her flowing midi dress was discovered at Awoke Vintage Brooklyn, her black leather boots were found at Buffalo Exchange, and her wool coat and fur hat came from Charm School Vintage in Austin. Her black bangle bracelets are vintage Ferragamo from Gotta Have it in Venice Beach, which are paired with a metallic silver stack of BuDhaGirl bangles. In his modern approach, Cy’s daytime look is more rave style with nylon, zippered pants found at a small shop in Cleveland, and a Topman Christmas sweater adorned with skiing pugs. He matches this with Dr. Marten boots, a red muscle tank and a charcoal gray knit hat. The versatility of this iconic shade of red during the holiday season is limitless!
Black Leather + Festive Stockings
Timeless silhouettes with an element of surprise. Garrett and Cy’s looks combine quintessential menswear silhouettes with an element of novelty - fun socks! Garrett introduces deep evergreen with his cashmere J Crew sweater, layered with a staple Acne Studios white button down shirt. His pin stripe black slacks from Beach Brains reveal his bright red Bombas socks, and essential Dr. Marten leather loafers. Cy dons a classic maroon wool suit juxtaposed by playful, fuzzy Santa socks and a tie decorated with walruses. Their overall style is classic, paired with surprise details of whimsy!
Spruce + Sugar Plums
The Nutcracker Ballet, Act II in the Land of Sweets. The dynamic duo, Paris and Kate, incorporate the sweetness of Christmas in their enchanting and fashionable festive looks. Paris evokes visions of sugar plums in her pink Oscar de la Renta A-line dress with matching statement earrings and classic suede black pumps. As a former ballerina, her Nutcracker-inspired look is quite fitting! Kate stuns in a La DoubleJ long sleeve maxi dress paired with red Ferragamo patent leather block heels. The bold pattern of her dress feels inspired by forest glades and the rich green of Spruce Christmas trees, perfectly paired with vivid flora for a striking look. The little bow detail on her shoes is making your hand wrapped gifts jealous this season!
Sumptuous Sparkle
A little sparkle and shine. Joon puts her own spin on Winter Blues with her stylish royal blue crushed velvet blazer. She pairs it effortlessly with a ribbed ivory mock neck top, black frayed jeans, and winter white boots from Salt & Chocolate in Korea. Katie introduces some sparkle with her Grandmother’s 1950’s earrings and fully bejeweled collar and sleeves. Her dress is black with long mesh sleeves from Cinq à Sept, complete with black suede, pointed toe Ann Taylor heels and a festive, custom lip shade she created at Bite Lip Lab.
Our Festive Gathering
Dressed to the nines in their festive holiday outfits, the Paris Forino team gathered for an incredibly delicious meal at Oiji Mi in Flatiron. They enjoyed craft cocktails, inventive Korean bites, and a successful Secret Santa exchange! There was much to be celebrated and champagne toasts in order after a wonderful year of hard work and beautiful projects. It was a stylish soirée and an incredibly enjoyable evening!
Happy Holidays, from us to you and yours!
Paris Forino and team wish you a wonderful holiday season, and a very happy new year!
