12 Years of Paris Forino
Join us in celebrating the last twelve years with a trip down memory lane...
Happy 12 year anniversary to us! From Paris and Kate getting their start as a team of two in a shared office space, to the excitement of moving to our largest office space next year, and all of the homes created and design projects in between, big and small … it’s been a beautiful journey. After years of hard work, growth, and the chance to truly refine and grow our craft and capabilities - take a look at our timeline of highlights that we are so proud to reflect on and share with you, here.
2012
Brand launch on November 15, 2012. Paris founded her own firm after years of studying interior design in Sydney, Australia and working her way up in the industry. Upon moving to New York, she met and worked alongside colleague Kate Emmons at CetraRuddy Architecture before they broke off and continued on, working together as a team of two. At the inception of the Paris Forino firm, their first shared office space was on Park Avenue South.
2013
Team growth, multi-family projects, and expanding into hospitality. Cy Wilson joined the team and they moved to another shared working space on 6th avenue. They installed their first multi-family project in Soho, started work on a luxury two-family house in the East Village, and won their first hospitality project at the Gem Hotel which was completed 2 years later.
2014
First international project. Paris won her first international project, a multi-family building in Stockholm, Sweden. The building is called CornerHouse, comprising of 52 condominium units across 11 floors.
2015
First show house, and first tree house. Paris and team participated in their first show house event for Holiday House at Academy Mansion, in support of raising crucial funds for the prevention and cure of breast cancer.
She also designed a unique concept home in Washington, CT - a real (chic) tree house!
2016
New office space and the start of a large, international private residential project. The team moved to their first dedicated office space at 210 W 29th St. The team also won and began work on a large residential project in Toronto, Canada.
2017
First feature in Architectural Digest. Paris was featured in Architectural Digest for the first time, featuring a Greenwich Village private residence designed for high-end real estate broker and dear friend, John Gomes.
2018
Two more Architectural Digest Features, and a product launch. Paris designed the new, downtown office for celebrity brokers Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of Douglas Elliman. Paris and team also completed a large multi-family project on the Upper East Side, and both projects were featured in Architectural Digest.
Additionally, Paris launched a dedicated product line with Waterworks called “Grace”. This collaboration is comprised of a limited line of custom enamel and polished chrome fixtures and accessories, which were implemented in all residences at VU NYC, a multi-family building that Paris designed in Kips Bay.
2019
NYBG Orchid Dinner. Paris designed a custom tablescape for the NYBG 17th annual Orchid Show and dinner party, which took place in the Grand Ballroom at the Plaza.
Martha Stewart attended the event, and credited Paris in her blog for this beautiful, Orchid centerpiece.
2020
Completion of Water Mill Hamptons home and an office move. Paris completed work on a private residence in Water Mill, NY which was published in Modern Luxury Hamptons Magazine. The team also moved to a new office at 345 7th Avenue and did a renovation on the new, custom space.
Here is our current office space in Chelsea, that Paris and the team designed, renovated, and infused custom furnishings into (such as our custom-built colorful conference room table, shown below).
2021
Lania Lane home in Beverly Hills. Paris designed longtime friend and colleague Fredrik Eklund’s colorful “forever home” in Beverly Hills. The project was published and featured in Architectural Digest.
2022
Paris in Paris trip, and Gramercy Multi-Family project launch. Paris and Kate went on a trip to Paris, seeking inspiration at Maison&Objet during Design Week. The team also celebrated the launch of their multi-family project at 250 E 21st, which featured custom design of the building’s apartment and amenity spaces.
2023
Pink Tribeca Loft. Paris is featured on Architectural Digest, Mansion Global and in print in the September issue of Livingetc for her “Unapologetically pink” Loft apartment in Tribeca. This project was a career highlight for Paris as it allowed her the freedom to wildly play with favorite color, and purely express the essence of what design means to her.
“The first thing I learned in design school is that a well-designed space can change the way you feel, and I’ve always held that idea close,” says Forino, who notes the kitchen is usually the heart of any home. “Here, color unequivocally sparks pure joy.”
2024
Greenwich Village townhouse, AD Pro Directory, luxury multi-family in Tribeca. Paris’s second iteration of designing the former townhouse of the late Malcolm Forbes in Greenwich Village was published in Architectural Digest. She also was designated as a member of the AD Pro Directory list by Architectural Digest.
Paris also designed 85 Worth St, a luxury multi-family project in a landmarked Tribeca building. She designed two floors of amenity space, and all of the apartments.
